Al-Hilal, the King’s Cup title holder, will host Al-Ittihad on Tuesday in the quarter-finals of the tournament at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.
Al-Hilal qualified for the quarter-finals of the King’s Cup after beating Al-Ta’ee 4-1 in the round of 16, while Al-Ittihad won 2-0 over Al-Jandal.
The two teams met in the semi-finals of the previous edition of the tournament, when Al-Hilal won 2-1 and eliminated Al-Ittihad from the tournament.
Al-Ittihad hopes to continue its distinguished season locally under the leadership of its French coach Laurent Blanc, as it tops the Saudi Roshen League standings by two points over Al-Hilal, the title holder.
Al-Ittihad’s last victory over Al-Hilal dates back to April 9, 2021 in the league, as they have met 13 times in all competitions, with Al-Hilal winning 12 and drawing once.
