The Democratic Party has been weakened by President-elect Donald Trump’s victory to the point that it has the “smell of a loser,” DNC National Finance Committee member Lindy Lee said.

“I think, unfortunately, the Democratic Party has a stink of a loser throughout the party,” Lee, a prominent fundraiser for the party, told “Fox & Friends Weekend.”

Big tech leaders like Google CEO Sundar Pichai, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg have either met with Trump or, in Altman’s case, made direct donations to Trump’s inaugural committee after his election win.

Amazon plans to donate $1 million to Trump inauguration fund. Altman also donated $1 million to Trump’s inaugural fund, as Zuckerberg announced similar plans to strengthen his ties with the president-elect.

“I speak as a Democrat, and that doesn’t make me happy to say that. I feel like the Democrats are going to be in the wilderness for at least the next four to eight years, and Jeff Bezos is probably thanking his lucky stars,” he told me, adding that he withheld the endorsement. “They’re doing everything they can right now to continue to detente.”

Bezos ended presidential endorsements with The Washington Post, which he bought in 2013, shortly before Election Day this year. The decision angered some liberal staffers and reporters who were eager to throw the paper’s official line behind Vice President Kamala Harris.

Asked about the tech industry’s reaction to Trump’s win, Lee said they were excited about his incoming administration.

“I think the tech world loves the fact that Donald Trump is going to be the next president,” he told me. “He’s really embraced crypto. He says he wants the United States to be the crypto capital of the world.”

He also spoke to me about the growing unpopularity of key Democratic policies, including tackling illegal immigration, saying voters are “tired” of Democrats.

“I speak as an immigrant,” he told me. “For immigrants like me, who are naturalized Americans, proud and grateful Americans, it’s very disturbing that people are flooding into the country, willingly or unwillingly.”

Zuckerberg visited Trump in early December at Mar-a-Lago to shore up his ties with the president-elect as he prepares to take office in January.
