ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed satisfaction over the decline in inflation rate to 4.1 percent, its lowest in 81 months, ARY News reported.

In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, he said that achieving macroeconomic stability is an important step, but it is just the beginning.

The prime minister highlighted the significant decline in inflation to 4.1 percent in December 2024 as a positive development. He also referred to the launch of the ‘Awran Pakistan – Pakistan Takeoff’ project, which aims to place the country among the leading countries of the world.

He added, “The government is pursuing a policy of economic reforms. The current account has achieved a surplus after 24 years. Inflation has come down from 38 percent to 4.1 percent and the stock market has become the second best in the world.” Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said.

He added that the interest rate has come down from 22 percent to 13 percent, which shows the hard work of the government to stabilize the economy.

“We (the government) are aware of the difficulties faced by the people and hence we have been working day and night to resolve the problems of the masses. Inshallah, the lives of the people will improve further.
