The first pictures of a dog walking dead in a hit-and-run before Christmas have emerged, as police continue a desperate hunt for the driver who hit him.
Police have launched a hunt for the male driver of a 'significantly damaged' blue car after a collision with Aaron Jones in a small Welsh village yesterday.
The incident, which took place on a small country lane in Lenpalmsaint, Carmarthenshire, saw the victim unharmed.
Following the crash, which happened between 6.45pm and 7.45pm on December 23, police have issued an appeal for any potential witnesses to come forward.
Aaron Jones, 38, was walking his dog near his village home when he was struck and killed.
Mr Jones was described as a 'lovely guy' who did a lot for his local area.
Dyfed-Powys Police are asking anyone who may have information or dashcam footage of the vehicle in question at the time of the incident to contact them.
Specialist officers are supporting Mr Jones' family following the Christmas tragedy.
The collision happened near Llan Palmsaint, Caer Salem Baptist Chapel in Carmarthenshire
Officers confirmed the vehicle involved was traveling north on Llanpumsaint at the time of the collision.
Local councilor Brian Davies said the village was 'so quiet' after his 'sad' death.
A police spokesman said: 'Dyfed-Powys Police are investigating a fatal collision between a pedestrian and a car in the village of Llanpumsaint in Carmarthenshire. The vehicle left the scene, and officers are now looking for the driver.

'Police are particularly keen to speak to the male driver of a blue car which sustained significant damage.
'Sadly, one man has died as a result of his injuries. Family Liaison Officers are assisting her family.
The collision took place between 6.45pm and 7.45pm on Monday, December 23 near Care Salem Baptist Chapel when the man was walking his dog.
'Officers have established that the vehicle involved was traveling northbound through Llanpumsaint at the time of the collision.
'They are appealing for the driver, and anyone with information about the incident to come forward – particularly anyone around the relevant time with dashcam footage.
'The road is currently closed and is likely to remain closed for some time while the search continues.
'Anyone with information which could assist officers with their investigation is asked to report it to Dyfed-Powys Police.'
